The Event

The Paradise Point Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank is thrilled to announce its third annual Economic Update Breakfast Event, this year partnering with Griffith Business School to deliver a more interactive event than ever before.

Speakers

Welcomed back to the stage is guest speaker David Robertson (Head of Economic & Market Research, Bendigo Bank), with his informative (and palatable) update on the state of global markets and the outlook for the Gold Coast’s economy. Hot on the tail of the Federal Election, David will cover the likely direction of interest rates, the Aussie Dollar and the impact of both the election and Royal Commission on outlooks for business and consumers.

Joining David on stage for the popular Q&A session are Sam O’Connor MP, Member for Bonney, and Professor Fabrizio Carmignani, Dean (Academic) and Professor of Economics, Griffith Business School.

Workshops

This year, we are thrilled to reveal three exclusive workshops following the Economic Update, giving guests the opportunity to learn from leading experts and expand on topics discussed during breakfast. In addition to David Robertson and Professor Carmignani, Griffith Expert Professor Bela Stantic will join the workshop line-up. Professor Stantic is renowned for his work in Big Data, Social Media Sentiment Analysis and Data Management. The third workshop will be hosted by Dr Julienne Senyard, Senior Lecturer, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Griffith Business School.
